Hi Dave, I played Rugby for UCLA 82-86 and knew Rick through some of the football players that played rugby, and from the fraternity system. You are right on about him, and I might add, the guy is very smart, having gone to Law school. Thanks for your system. I am excited to employ it next fall for my first year as head coach of an 8-10 year old team who was badly beat up last year. My son was on the team and after getting run over and hammered his first week of practice (and the whole season) by older 10 yr olds on the team, he almost quit. I think your system and my coaching is really going to make a difference in some of these kids lives. I can hardly wait. thanks, chris

Gordon,

Always a pleasure to meet one of my "students" face to face and probably the second biggest reason I do all of these out of town clinics.

Coach Cisar -

I applaud your consistent touting of the non Xs and Os aspect of coaching youth football. At a time when highlights, victories and bad attitudes infringe on the game and sports in general, your attention to actually teaching and effectively communicating with young boys to be a part of a positive experience is appreciated.

Having coached for the past 4 years, I am troubled by the less than professional tactics of so many coaches and programs. The right way is truly the hard way and I hope your growing contingent of SW followers appreciate and adopt your 360 degree approach.

PS - I am sure I am not the only coach/dad whose son is invovled with martial arts. While I am early in my exposure to the teachings of martials arts, I am seeing plenty of opportunity to adopt many of those same teachings relative to discipline, structure, and character development into my coaching toolbox - provides ample "whale jumping" examples.

I look forward to meeting you at the St. Louis clinic this comming weekend.

Regards - Gordon Lashmett
